Clemson University offers two-week classes for gifted middle and high school students during the summer.  Students must be recommended through their schools.  If you are interested, see Mrs. Carter in the Guidance office for more information or visit online at www.clemson.edu/summerscience.

The SC Chamber of Commerce offers SC Business Week for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors.  This year, Business Week will be held July 13-18th at Presbyterian College.  This weeklong program gives students an inside look at business, entrepreneurship, and the free enterprise system.  Students form a mock company and will compete to make their company the most profitable.  See Mrs. Carter for an application and more details.

The SC Commissioner's School for Agriculture is a leadership development summer program that informs, inspires, and challenges participants to consider a career in agricultural, natural resource and life science industries.  This one week camp is heldJuly 19-25 at Clemson University.  It is for rising 11th and 12th graders.  To obtain an application or for additional information, go to http://www.clemson.edu/CAFLS/sccsa/index.htm.

Converse College in Spartanburg offers four summer workshops June 8-13th:  CSI:  Converse, Young Writers Workshop, Visual Arts Workshop, and Theater Workshop.   These workshops are for rising 10-12th grades.  Come by the Guidance Office for more information or go to www.converse.edu/summerworkshops.

The South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities is accepting applications for 2008 Summmer Programs and the 2008-2009 Public Residential High School Year. The deadline for applications has been extended to February 20, 2008. Interested emerging artists should call Anne Tromsness at 864.282.3706 or email applynow@scgsah.state.sc.us to request applications and more information.

Rising juniors and seniors who are interested in pursuing a college degree in Agriculture or Natural Resources may be interested in a summer program though Clemson University and the SC Commissioner's School of Agriculture. Applications are available at www.clemson.edu/cafls.

The Leadership Institute at Columbia College offers several summer programs for outstanding freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. For more information, contact Ms Copeland in the Guidance Office. The deadline for registration is April 20.

Summer Scholars at Furman University is for rising juniors and seniors who have strong academic skills and motivation. Enrollment is limited, so early application is suggested. Visit www.furman.edu/summerscholars for more information.
