Welcome to Colleton Preparatory Academy and thank you for your interest!

Admission to Colleton Preparatory Academy is by formal application and achievement testing. Transfer students must also provide transcripts and recent standardized achievement test scores for evaluation before an admissions decision is made. Students transferring from member schools of SCISA that hold advanced accreditation who are achieving at the 60th percentile or higher are admitted upon transfer of records. All other students are evaluated by the Head of School with the advice of the Guidance Counselor. Only those students who have, in the Head of School’s judgment, a reasonable chance of achieving the qualitative standards of advanced accreditation will be admitted.

Online Application

We encourage families to apply online as it simplifies admission and provides parents the ability to track the status of their child's application. To begin the Online Application process, go to www.colletonprep.org. Click on “Applications to CPA now online” or go to the Admissions page. Create an Account. Upon account creation, you will receive an email containing a verification link. Once your email address has been verified, log in to your account and create a New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application.
A non-refundable fee of $50 must be submitted with each application along with your child’s birth certificate.
After submitting the application, you will be able to track your admissions status at the school by logging in to your account. In addition, you will be able to print the completed application, monitor when the school receives any applicable supplemental forms and, if necessary, reprint the forms.

Admissions

Once your application has been submitted, our admission process begins. Our Admissions Team will review the application then check the following:

  • • Available openings
  • • Previous grades (if applicable)
  • • Previous behavior record

After the above is reviewed, we may call you in for an entrance test and/or a meeting with the current teacher of the grade applied for. Upon acceptance from the admissions office, a contract (enrollment forms) will be emailed to you. To secure his/her spot, you must complete this online enrollment packet.

IMPORTANT ADMISSION DETAILS

Wait List:

When a vacancy occurs in one of our program areas we go to the corresponding waiting list. Priority is given to CPA faculty, staff, current CPA Families and CPA Alumni. If there is no CPA affiliate to fill the vacancy, we will then accept families from the community. Often there are other factors that may be looked at when enrolling a child; however, our priority is to take CPA affiliates. We don't usually have openings mid-year unless someone leaves our program. If a vacancy should occur, a staff member will contact you.

*Please pay close attention to the deadline date should you receive enrollment information.

Enrollment:

We fill our program for upcoming year between the months of February - May. Re-enrollment is offered first to our current students. After contracts have been returned from our current enrolled families, enrollment is then offered to those on our wait list and/or new applicants (depending on priority).

*Please pay close attention to the deadline date should you receive enrollment information.

Summer Program:

Summer enrollment is offered at CPA for preschool and elementary students. We fill this program in April & May. Students MUST be enrolled in the upcoming fall to join our summer program. CPA cannot accommodate a child for the summer months only.

*Please pay close attention to the deadline date should you receive enrollment information.
